The New York-based organization said it is planning a consumer-focused educational event for October at the Kristin Hanson Gallery in New York City.
The event will give NCDIA members the opportunity to display their products and interact with a hand-selected group of high-net worth consumers in a social setting, and it will feature discussions and panels on what consumers need to know when buying a natural color diamond.
The NCDIA also is in the process of developing a new website that will include the latest information on natural color diamonds, podcasts, a design gallery, a retailer locator and a membership login with a natural color diamond request dashboard. The new site is set to go live in early September.
Founded in 2003, the NCDIA announced plans to restructure in April, bringing on Tom Gelb, a certified gemologist and former manager at the Gemological Institute of America, as its new educational director.
At the Las Vegas jewelry shows, the organization held a networking event for retailers and wholesalers and debuted its new quarterly newsletter, Natural Colors. The first issue focused on yellow diamonds and included selling tips and educational information from Gelb.
The next issue is slated to run in September, with a focus on pink diamonds.
